Hyderabad, July 14: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has come under scrutiny after electoral roll data reportedly showed his name appearing in the voter lists of two Assembly constituencies under different Parliamentary constituencies.
Under the Representation of the People Act, 1950, a person is not entitled to be registered as a voter in the electoral rolls of more than one constituency.
According to the reported electoral roll data, Revanth Reddy’s name appears in:
- Kodangal Assembly Constituency under the Mahabubnagar Parliamentary Constituency
- Achampet Assembly Constituency under the Nagarkurnool Parliamentary Constituency
The report states that both entries carry the same EPIC number: TES0274035.
The records reportedly spell the Chief Minister’s name as “Anumula Revant Reddy”, son of Narasimha Reddy, instead of “Revanth Reddy.”
The Achampet entry lists his address as House No. 3-48, Kondareddypally village, Vangoor mandal, while the Kodangal entry mentions House No. 1-209.
According to election procedures:
- Form 8 can be submitted to correct errors such as spelling mistakes in voter details.
- Form 7 may be filed to request deletion of a duplicate voter registration from the constituency where the elector does not ordinarily reside.
These procedures are administered by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).
There has been no official response from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy or the Election Commission regarding the reported duplicate voter entries at the time of publication.
The report also referred to a separate legal matter involving actor Prakash Raj, noting that legal proceedings are continuing in that case. The circumstances of that case are separate and should not be treated as comparable findings regarding the present report.
