SCCL Chief Sridhar Receives Bankok Award

Hyderabad, Feb.8 (Maxim News): SCCL chairman & MD N. Sridhar received prestigious “Bharatiya Mahantam Puraskar 2019-20 (The Leader)” Award at 13th Asian Business and Social Forum conference held on Friday night at Bankok (Thailand) under the auspices of the AsiaOne magazine.

The magazine being published from Thailand selected N. Sridhar for the award which is given to most efficient CEOs among the Asian countries in the fields of Business, Commercial and Industry. Sridhar received the award from Ambassador of Morocco Abdelillah Al Hossni and Ambassador of Maldives Mohammad Jinna at the grand International conference held Marriot Marquis Hotel.

The organizers said the award was being given to Sridhar in recognition of his contribution for the record breaking sales, profits and growth rate achieved by the Company in the last five years. On the occasion, an audio visual on the growth of Singareni under the leadership of N. Sridhar was shown. The organizers showered praises saying that after formation of Telangana State, the SCCL under the leadership of N. Sridhar achieved 78% growth in Sales, 262% growth in profits, 28% growth in coal transport and 23% growth in coal production and this award was being presented to him in recognition of his achievements.

After receiving the award, Sridhar said it was an international recognition for the collective hard work of Singarenians under the guidance of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He also said he would work hard continuously with the same zeal and many more achievements and growth rate would be achieved. He said after the formation of Telangana State under instructions from the Chief Minister, he took over responsibilities as Chairman & MD and took Singareni on the road to growth.

When compared to 2014, in the last five years, the sales of the SCCL have increased from Rs 14,078 crore to Rs 25071 crore (growth of 78%), Profits have gone up from Rs 490 crore to Rs 1,767 crore (growth of 262%), coal transport from 58 million tons to 68 million tons (growth of 28%), Coal production increased from 52 million tons to 62 million tons (growth of 23%) and created records. The Singareni stood ahead in sales and profits growth rate, better than Maharatna and other government organizations.

On the instructions of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Sridhar was also successful in diversifying Singareni into Thermal power, solar electricity generation as well. 1200 megawatt Singareni thermal power plant was erected at Jaipur in Mancherial district which caters to 20% of the State’s power requirements. Similarly plans are underway to establish 300 megawatt solar power plants in 9 areas. In the first phase 5 megawatt plants of 219 megawatts has already started. Thus, N. Sridhar’s contribution in making Singareni the first coal company to enter into solar and thermal energy is praiseworthy.

Sridhar has already received a few International Awards Based on Singareni’s growth, some National and International organizations have presented N.Sridhar some prestigious awards. International level Indian Best Company Award (USA), Manager of the year award-2018(London), Outstanding Global Leadership award-2018 (Dubai), Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship award (Enterprise Asia), Golden Peacock award (Dubai) have been received.
