Short film on Lord Balaji’s marriage with Padmavathi to be shot at Chilkur

Hyderabad, Feb.12 (Maxim News): A short film with the real message of love of Lord Venkateswara Swamy and Goddess Padmavathi will be shot on February 14 at Chilkur by a film unit. The Chilkur Temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy has been in the forefront to sensitize the society on various issues, especially safety of women and girls. Rakshabandhan, Kanyavandanam, Mahalakshmi festival, Munivahana Utsavam have been inspiring the society. To steer the society away from objectified love and market forces exploiting love by corporates to fund their businesses, the short film has been planned this time.

As per legend, Srinivasa saw Padmavathi while chasing a herd of elephants. Since then both fell in love. When Padmavathi’s father Akasa Raju found out about this, he consulted priests and decided to give Padmavathi in marriage to Srinivasa. Lord Srinivasa had to borrow money from Kubera to finance His marriage. Thus, Lord Srinivasa and Goddess Padmavathi tied the Divine and Eternal knot. A bridegroom funding his own marriage is the divine message.

The Divine love story has some inspiring messages for the youth of today. Lord Srinivasa performed long penance for his divine love. Love was divine not objectified. Srinivasa spent a fortune for His marriage to wed His beloved. A Devotee of Lord Venkateshwara should stay away from dowry if not spending for the marriage from your pocket….A strong message against dowry system.

This will be the message in the short film with present day characters. (Maxim News)
