Smuggler Hides Ganja Behind God’s Photos in Hyderabad — Shocking New Method Busted
Hyderabad, July 5 (Maxim News): In a bizarre and shocking twist to drug trafficking tactics, Hyderabad Excise Police busted a new method of ganja smuggling involving religious deception. A man named Rohan Singh, based in Dhoolpet, attempted to hide marijuana behind framed pictures of deities, pretending to be engaged in prayer rituals when police arrived for inspection.
Acting on a tip-off, excise officials raided Rohan Singh’s residence, suspecting that he was transporting ganja (marijuana) from Odisha. During the search, they initially found nothing suspicious inside the house. However, they grew wary after noticing Rohan performing sudden, exaggerated pujas (religious rituals) during their inspection.
Their suspicion proved valid. Upon a more detailed check, officers discovered ten kilograms of ganja concealed behind religious portraits. Rohan Singh was immediately detained and questioned. In a desperate attempt to flee, he tried to escape but was quickly subdued by the police.
Further investigation revealed that Rohan was operating a smuggling route between Dhoolpet and Gachibowli, delivering narcotics across Hyderabad. The police believe that he used this unusual method of concealment to avoid detection, banking on religious decor to deflect suspicion.
This arrest highlights the increasing ingenuity of drug traffickers and the challenges faced by law enforcement in the ongoing fight against the illegal ganja trade in Telangana.
The Excise Department has reiterated its commitment to rooting out the drug menace and urged citizens to report suspicious activity. Officials confirmed that legal action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been initiated against the accused.
