State Now Has 11 Govt and 23 Pvt Med Colleges: Rajender

Hyderabad, Sept.18 (Maxim News): State Medical, health and family welfare minister Etela Rajender on Wednesday said that they had set up four government medical colleges after the formation of separate Telangana state. Replying to a question in the State Assembly, he said that the state had only five government medical Colleges before the formation of the state.

He said that the new medical colleges had been set up at Siddipet, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda Suryapeta, and added that each medical college has 150 MBBS Seats. He also said that the Center had set up a medical college under the aegis of ESIC.

The Minister also said that the MPs of the state had fought in the Parliament and got AIIMS at Bibinagar. He said that the state now has 11 government medical Colleges and 23 private Medical colleges with a total intake of 4790 seats. Of the total seats, 1640 are government seats.

Rajender said that they have filled up top posts in the medical colleges, including Professors and Assistant Professors. The Government is providing better medical care in the State now. (Maxim News)
