Strive For Development Of Towns: KTR
Hyderabad, Feb.25 (Maxim News): Municipal Administration Minister K Tarakarama Rao today appealed to the people’s representatives and officials to strive for development of towns with greenery and sanitation to keep the people healthy.
KTR participated in some development works in Devarakonda town here as part of Pattana Pragati program on the second day on Tuesday. On the occasion, the minister instructed the officials concerned to construct 100 public toilets for immediate usage. ‘Let us change and change our environment by separating dry and wet garbage’, he exhorted the gathering. While in Siricilla, wet garbage was earning Rs 3 lakh, it will be possible to earn Rs 1 lakh in Devarakonda town, he added.
There should be no talk of bribery in the State, he said, adding that 10 percent of funds were allotted to greenery under Haritha Haram scheme. He also said the chairman and wards’ members will be held responsible for not protecting 85 percent of the saplings planted.
Their jobs will go if they failed to complete the given task, he warned.
While wet garbage is for recycling, dry one can be used for electricity production, KTR said. ‘Unless we keep our areas clean and green, development will not be possible in the towns’, he said. He also hoped that the 10-day program will ensure development in two months and there will be no chance for open defecation. (Maxim News)
