Mancherial/Hyderabad, Mar 9 (Maxim News): Two persons were arrested for smuggling banned spurious cotton seeds at Surjapur village in Kannepalli mandal on Sunday.
Police seized 140 kilograms of cotton seeds from the two. The value of the seeds was assessed to be Rs. 3.50 lakh. One more accused person was absconding.
Kannepalli Sub-Inspector A Gangaram said that Bera Narayana from Surjapur and Kondagorla Rajanna, belonging to Venkapur, were apprehended for possessing the seeds when police raided their homes following a tip-off. Another accused, Suresh, is still at large.
