Hyderabad, April 21 (Maxim News): Has it been more than 10 years since you got your Aadhaar card? However, UIDAI suggests that you update your details immediately. Currently, the facility to update Aadhaar details online is available for free. However, officials have clarified that these free services will be available only till June 14, after which a fixed fee will have to be paid to update. Updating identity and address documents is mandatory to avoid any disruption in banking, government subsidies and other verification processes.
According to UIDAI regulations, it is very important that Aadhaar data is accurate. Over a period of ten years, there are chances of changes in an individual’s address, photo or other demographic details. If the details are not correct, there may be difficulties in availing government schemes or the bank’s KYC processes may get stuck. That is why UIDAI recommends renewing Aadhaar details once in ten years. This will ensure that you can avail services without any hindrance.
Currently, document update services are available free of cost through the My Aadhaar portal. Users can easily complete this process using their mobile phone or laptop. They can avail this service by visiting the official website and logging in with the help of Aadhaar number and OTP. They will have to upload an identity card, address proof like voter ID, PAN card or ration card.
After logging in, users need to carefully check their details like name, gender, date of birth, address etc. After making sure that all the details are correct, they need to upload the required documents. After the process is completed, a service request number will be provided. Through this, the status of the update can be tracked.
Key points to remember:
The documents to be uploaded should be clear and not blurry.
The name on the documents should exactly match the name on Aadhaar.
The file size should be less than 2MB. It should be in JPEG, PNG or PDF format only. (Maxim News)
