Uttam Alleges EVMs Tampered; Demands VVPATs Counting

Hyderabad, Dec.11 (Maxim News): TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the EVMs used in the elections in the State were tampered and subjected to manipulations . He also alleged that election commission of India failed to hold the elections in a transparent and unbiased manner in the state. He demanded election commission to also count VVPATs before declaring polling results.

Addressing media persons at Gandhi bhavan, Reddy said they had already submitted a representation to the CEO Rajat Kumar and the CEC on the issue. “We have asked the election commission to also count vvpat slips. If it failed to do so, it will be a black day for democracy in the state. I wonder if the purpose of vvpats is not to count them, then it is of no use to EVMs in the elections. Majority of the political parties are demanding the counting of the slips. But, the election commission is not listening to them ,” he said.

He alleged that in many constituencies there was no matching of Polling votes i.e VVPad slips with that of the EVMs.(Maxim News)
