Hyderabad: KTR slams Revanth over the manner in which the Special Investigation Team served a notice at the residence of BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao. BRS working president K T Rama Rao questioned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s attitude and objected to the SIT pasting a notice at the Leader of Opposition’s house late on Friday evening. He raised the issue publicly and accused the authorities of acting with arrogance.
KTR said the SIT pasted the notice despite the BRS chief sharing his residential address in his reply to the police. He stated that the officials pasted a copy of the notice at night when no one was staying in the house. He alleged that the act was deliberate. “This was done even after the BRS chief had himself shared his residential address in his reply to the police. Yet, the investigating officials pasted a copy of the notice at his residence at night when none was staying in the house, only to derive devilish pleasure,” he said on X. He then asked, “Is this not arrogance?”
Meanwhile, the SIT probing the phone tapping case served notices again to the BRS chief on Friday. KTR said KCR had requested the SIT to conduct the examination at his residence in Erravalli. However, the investigating officials insisted on questioning him at his Nandi Nagar house. Therefore, KTR alleged that the authorities ignored a reasonable request and followed a rigid approach.
KTR also referred to rules related to questioning senior citizens. He said, “As per rules, persons aged above 65 years should be questioned at their residence, but the police was violating these rules.” He further questioned the conduct of the police and asked, “Does your police have awareness of Standard Operating Procedure or have they been entrusted with the task of harassing opposition leaders.”
Later, KTR asserted faith in the judiciary while criticising the government. “You may not have respect towards law and justice. But we have complete faith in the judiciary. We will challenge all these illegal cases in the court and expose all your wrongful acts, besides placing them before the people,” the BRS working president said. He added that the people of Telangana were observing the harassment of opposition leaders and would respond at the right time.
