- Union Minister Bandi Sanjay counters Congress claims on Telangana support
- Bandi Sanjay cites MSP aid, PMAY houses and NH 167 widening
Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday rebutted the Congress government’s claim that the Centre is doing nothing for Telangana. He cited several decisions taken by the BJP led NDA government over the past week to highlight the Centre’s support for the state.
The Union Minister of State for Home said the Centre had approved financial and development measures benefiting farmers, infrastructure and housing. He presented these developments as evidence against what he described as a narrative by the Congress government.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Kumar pointed to financial assistance announced for agricultural procurement in Telangana. The Centre has announced Rs 884 crore support for MSP procurement of 1.25 lakh MT of urad, sunflower and other crops from Telangana farmers. According to him, this support is aimed at strengthening procurement and ensuring benefits reach farmers.
Centre announcements include housing and infrastructure projects
He also said the Centre approved 18,213 houses for Telangana under the PM Awas Yojana Urban scheme. The housing approvals, he noted, form part of ongoing support from the central government to improve urban housing in the state.
Sanjay Kumar further highlighted railway and heritage initiatives announced recently. According to him, the government has announced two new Amrit Bharat trains connecting Cherlapalli with Nagercoil and Kamakhya. He said these new services would improve connectivity from Telangana.
The Union Minister also mentioned heritage protection measures. He said two historic temples in Mulugu district are set to receive national monument status under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India.
Later, he referred to a major road infrastructure project in the state. According to Sanjay Kumar, the Centre approved Rs 3,175 crore to widen NH 167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar. The widening project is part of the Hyderabad Panaji Economic Corridor.
In a post on X, Sanjay Kumar said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana continues to receive strong support for infrastructure, farmers, housing and heritage. Facts matter more than false propaganda.”
Through these statements, the Union Minister sought to counter the criticism from the Congress government and underline the central government’s recent decisions affecting Telangana.
