About (16) years ago, A-1 Maria Das migrated to Sangem village of Valigonda Mandal, married his wife Pulamma, had two children, and began working as a Mason Labour.  About four years ago, the A-1 began to live in a relationship with the A-2 Korne Laxmi as her husband died due to illness leaving her with three sons.  Since the A-1 assured her to look after her and her sons, she started cohabitating with him.  But because the A-1 was unable to meet his expenses and lead two families, he started committing thefts.  He first stole (14) goats in Bhongir town, which is the subject matter of Cr. No.254/2019 U/s 379 IPC of Bhongir town PS.  Thereafter, he has alone committed the following two property offenses.

Later, he formed a gang consisting of his concubine A-2 Korne Laxmi, his elder brother A-3 Shanthaiah, and A-2’s younger brother A-4 Banala Rajesh. Thus, the above four accused jointly perpetrated the following series: Chain Snatchings and House Burglaries within the limits of YadadriBhongir Zone.

MODUS OPERANDI OF THE ACCUSED

The Modus operandi of the accused is that they target the women who are fast asleep outside or upstairs in their house. Since every woman has a nuptial thread around her neck, they chose to steal the nuptial thread only. If any woman happens to have another jewel by chance, they steal it also as per their feasibility.  First, the accused arrive at the location where they aim to steal before everyone eats and goes to bed.  Then, they choose a house at the end of the village or an isolated one, and they also look at whether the environment area is ideal for escape or not. Later, they seek concealment at a short distance from the house or roam around the area like the locals, thereby carefully examining the surroundings of the house and planning how to access the premises and how to retreat.  Thus, after ensuring that the residents of such a house are asleep, the A-1 enters the premises and commits stealing, while the remaining watches the surroundings outside and stays close to the house. When the A-1 comes outside, they manage to flee on the motorcycle of A-1 before the locals wake up. As per his strategy, the A-1 used to accompany the A-2 Korne Laxmi to easily escape from the view of the police.

The above four accused were arrested by the Police team led by CI of Police Yadagirigutta Rural, during the vehicle checking on the night of 19.04.2024 at Jeedikal X road, Alair, while the accused were proceeding to commit another offense.
