New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced free online coaching for competitive examinations and AI training for one crore youth over the next year.
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on India’s 80th Independence Day, Modi said the initiative would reduce the financial burden of coaching on poor and middle-class families.
He said many parents feel compelled to send their children to expensive coaching centres due to social pressure.
Free Coaching Network to Support Competitive Exam Aspirants
Modi said the government would create a nationwide digital network offering free coaching for various competitive examinations.
He said India already has digital public infrastructure, talented teachers and other resources needed to build the system.
The Prime Minister said the initiative could help families save thousands of crores of rupees spent on coaching. It would also allow parents to remain closer to their children while supporting their education.
Modi also announced that one crore young people will receive training in artificial intelligence skills during the next year.
The announcements come amid growing concerns over the rising cost of coaching and the pressure faced by students preparing for competitive examinations.
The government’s focus on online education and AI skills is expected to expand access to learning opportunities for students and young people across the country.
