Delhi, May 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Union Council of Ministers discussed reforms aimed at improving Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Sharing details on X, Modi said the meeting focused on accelerating governance reforms and improving public services. He said ministers exchanged ideas and best practices to strengthen governance and deliver faster results for citizens.
The Prime Minister chaired a four-and-a-half-hour meeting with the Council of Ministers on Thursday. According to reports, he asked ministers to focus on future goals and speed up reforms ahead of the government completing 12 years at the Centre next month.
Focus On Governance And Public Welfare
During the meeting, Modi reportedly directed ministries to align their work with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. He stressed that reforms should directly benefit people and improve administrative efficiency.
Sources said the Prime Minister instructed ministers to reduce bureaucratic delays and ensure quicker movement of files. He also asked ministries to maximise productivity and maintain public welfare as the priority.
Nine ministries made presentations during the meeting, including Agriculture, Labour, Road Transport, Corporate Affairs, External Affairs, Commerce and Power.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also briefed the Council on the government’s recent diplomatic outreach to five nations.
The meeting gained importance amid speculation over a possible Cabinet reshuffle before June 9, when the NDA government completes 12 years at the Centre and two years of its third term.
Officials said ministries had submitted reports detailing reforms implemented over the past two years along with future policy plans.
