Hyderabad, May 6: Punjab remains on high alert after twin blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar triggered security concerns across the state on Tuesday night.
According to police, two explosions occurred within two hours near sensitive locations. One blast took place outside the Border Security Force office in Jalandhar around 8 pm. Soon after, another explosion was reported near the Amritsar Cantonment area.
However, officials confirmed no casualties in either incident. Meanwhile, some vehicles parked near the blast site in Jalandhar suffered damage due to the impact.
Punjab Twin Blasts Under Investigation
Police said unidentified individuals carried out the attacks. Initial findings suggest masked suspects planted or hurled explosive materials at both locations. Therefore, security agencies launched a large scale search operation.
The Khalistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the Jalandhar blast. The group alleged it acted in retaliation for a previous police encounter in Gurdaspur. However, Punjab Police rejected claims of casualties mentioned by the group.

Moreover, authorities increased surveillance in key cities. They also intensified checks at transport hubs and border points. As a result, security forces remain on alert across Punjab.
Officials stated that forensic teams collected evidence from both sites. Meanwhile, investigators are examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
Earlier this year, tensions rose after anti terror operations in Punjab. Therefore, security agencies are treating the incident with high priority. Officials also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
