TS Development & Irrigation Projects Supreme, But Centre Not Cooperating With Us: KTR

Hyderabad, Feb.14 (Maxim News): IT Minister K T Rama Rao said Telangana State model of development programs and irrigation projects could be emulated across country.

Speaking at the 28th conference of Nascom on Technology and Leadership Forum in Mumbai, KTR took exception to the Centre for not cooperating with the States. “We are making ample use of technology for State’s growth by implementing innovative schemes and programs. Though the Centre talks of inclusive growth, it was not extending needed support to the States like Telangana,” he charged.

“Innovation, incubation and infrastructure are formed part of these development programs.  IT businesses are being expanded to other cities and districts for balanced development”, he said, adding that T-Hub, startups and incubation centers were encouraging youth and engineering students to come with innovative ideas and plans. There was enormous talent in the country which needs training and skills to do miracles. We have set a record in the world by constructing the giant Kaleshwaram project in just three years”, he claimed.

He said cooperative federalism is key for States’ development but the Centre was not offering more help to them. He pointed out that the State government had launched potable waters scheme Mission Bhagiratha for the villages and Rythu Bandhu scheme to benefit farmers, which were being followed by other States. He also said another important program was revival of lakes and ponds that pushed minor irrigation and boost agriculture production significantly.

The IT Minister said the Tech Mahindra opened its center in Warangal where a mega textile park will be launched besides a pharma cluster in 19,000 acres near Hyderabad. The Nation will develop when the States are pushed to develop, he said. He also claimed that the country’s GDP was better than the US and Japan, which were getting loans, while India’s exports are put at only 2 percent in the world.(Maxim News)
