I will join BJP, says Konda Vishveswar Reddy

Hyderabad: Breaking his silence over news reports that he is going to join BJP, former MP Konda Visweswar reddy today announced that he would join the saffron party. He said he had been holding discussions with different politicians about what should be done for the development of Telangana State for the last two years and added that he had come to the conclusion that the State could only be developed only after ending the family rule.

He made it clear that the BJP alone has the capacity to end the family rule in the State. He said the Congress party did not have power to defeat ruling TRS party. Stating that the condition of the Congress was very poor across the country, he said the grand old party had just lost power in Maharashtra and added that the Congress would lose power in more States in the days to come.

Reddy said the BJP was gaining strength with each passing day and added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only has popularity in the country, but also across the world. He said any citizen in the country would say that Modi would once again become Prime Minister and added that the BJP would also come to power in Telangana. He termed the BJP as the real alternative to the TRS in the State.

He made it clear that he did not enter politics to make his political career and added that he came into politics to develop Ranga Reddy district and the Telangana State. He said the State had been pushed into a debt trap after the TRS party came to power. He said the farmers, students and employees in the State tell about the status of development of the State. He said his native Ranga Reddy district had faced injustice under the rule of the TRS party.

He alleged that the ruling party had diverted the funds of the Ranga Reddy district to other districts in the State. He said the TRS party did not have any separate Telangana activists now and added that the leaders who opposed the formation of the Telangana State were enjoying power in the TRS party rule. He said the opposition to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was growing in the State and added that 75 percent of the people were against KCR. While noting that the opposition of the people to KCR was clearly proved during Huzurabad by-elections, he said all the anti-KCR votes would be cast in favour of the BJP in the next assembly elections.

He said he was joining the BJP as it is a part of discipline. Reddy, however, said the State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar would take a decision on the exact timing of his joining into the saffron party. He made it clear that he was not joining the BJP in the presence of the national president of the saffron party JP Nadda. He also made it clear that he was not joining the BJP by expecting any post and added that he had also not demanded any ticket from the BJP leadership. (Maxim News)
