COVID-19: AP Records 1,085 Cases, 8 Deaths

After a drastic fall on Monday, coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh has seen hike on Tuesday. According to a bulletin released a short while ago, about 65,101 samples were tested in the last 24 hours where another 1085 new positive cases were reported taking the total number of cases across the state to 8,63,843 and eight people have been died in the past 24 hours, which brings the total death toll to 6956.

The health department asserts 1,447 people had recovered in the past 24 hours, which brings the number of recovered from the coronavirus to 8,43,863 while 13,024 are being treated at the various hospitals. The highest number of cases registered in the last 24 hours was 224 in Krishna followed by 126 in Guntur, 116 in East Godavari district, 138 in West Godavari, 142 in Chittoor district, 57 in Kadapa, 50 in Nellore, 42 in Prakasam, 86 in Visakhapatnam, 26 in Srikakulam, 10 in Anantapur, 37 in Vizianagaram, 31 in Kurnool district respectively.

Meanwhile, East Godavari district has the highest number of 1,21,844 positive cases in the state, followed by West Godavari district with 91,789 cases while Chittoor district has 83,268 cases. The state has conducted 97,27,321 tests overall.

Meanwhile, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted at the chief minister’s video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the govt is ready to distribute the vaccine on priority basis and instructed officials to plan accordingly.
