Fuel Shortage Rumours Denied In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 24: Reports of a fuel shortage in Hyderabad triggered concern after social media posts claimed petrol pumps were running dry. However, city police clarified that there is no shortage of fuel or gas in the city.

City Police Commissioner CP Sajjanar responded to the rumours on X and dismissed them. He said, “Hyderabad The city police have dismissed reports regarding a shortage of petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders in the city. They clarified that adequate stocks are available across the city and that supplies have not been disrupted anywhere.”

Meanwhile, the rumours gained traction due to rising tensions in West Asia, particularly the Iran Israel conflict. This led to panic among residents. As a result, many people rushed to petrol pumps, creating long queues and unnecessary crowding.

Sajjanar noted that such panic buying disrupts the normal supply system. Therefore, he urged citizens not to store fuel out of fear. He also said that authorities are closely monitoring the situation. The Hyderabad City Police are working with the civil supplies department to ensure smooth distribution.

Furthermore, the commissioner warned against spreading false information. He said strict action will be taken against those who create artificial scarcity or spread rumours. He also asked people to stay calm and rely only on official updates.

In addition, officials confirmed that the government is closely watching the supply of commercial gas used by hotels and restaurants. They assured that steps are in place to prevent any inconvenience to domestic consumers.
