Jubilee Hills By-Election: Congress Confident of Winning, Leaders Meet Anjan Kumar Yadav
Hyderabad, Oct 10 (Maxim News) : senior Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar reaffirmed that the Congress party’s candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election was selected after extensive consultations with all key stakeholders, including prominent party members.
Speaking to the media after meeting former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, Ponnam Prabhakar clarified that the Congress high command has taken the final decision regarding the ticket allocation based on current political dynamics.
“Anjan Kumar Yadav initially considered contesting from Jubilee Hills, but given the present circumstances, the party leadership has allotted the ticket to another candidate,” he said.
The minister, along with AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and senior leader Vivek Venkatswamy, visited Anjan Kumar Yadav’s residence to discuss future political strategies and the party’s roadmap.
“Anjan Kumar Yadav is a senior leader of our party, a two-time MP and two-time working president who has dedicated decades of service to the Congress,” Prabhakar added, praising Yadav’s consistent contribution to the party’s growth in Hyderabad.
Highlighting Yadav’s commitment, Ponnam recalled his leadership and humanitarian work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Under his leadership, the Congress made significant progress in Hyderabad. Our party continues to move forward with the same commitment and vision,” he said.
Expressing full confidence, the minister declared, “The Congress will win the Jubilee Hills by-election. The people will support our government for its welfare and development initiatives. The by-election will be led by Anjan Kumar Yadav, and we will all work unitedly under his leadership.”
AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan also interacted with Anjan Kumar Yadav during the meeting. Ponnam pointed out that the Congress had recently earned the people’s trust by winning the Cantonment election through its development-focused policies.
“Just as the people supported us in the Cantonment, they will once again bring victory to the ruling Congress in the Jubilee Hills by-election,” he asserted.
He further emphasized that the Congress is not a dictatorial party but one that values open dialogue and internal democracy. “If Anjan Kumar Yadav had won from Musheerabad, he would have been a minister today,” Prabhakar noted.
Reiterating the Congress’s larger goal, he concluded, “Our mission is clear — to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister. In the Jubilee Hills by-election, we will stand united and work collectively to ensure victory for the Congress.” (Maxim News)
